What is a Class A License?

Class A license that allows you to operate a combination of vehicles including semi-trailers and trailers with two or more axles. Also known as a SEMI.

• Class A CDL allows the driver to operate vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of more than 26,001 pounds.

• Class A CDL allows the driver to operate vehicles with a towed unit that has a GVWR of more than 10,000 pounds.

• Class A CDL allows the driver to operate Class B and Class C vehicles with proper endorsements*.
